    • Rachael Ray Nutrish® is approved by AAFCO for all life stages, so the answer is yes, you can feed Nutrish to your puppy. We recommend starting puppies on Rachael Ray Nutrish as soon as they begin to chew solid food, usually at three to four weeks of age. Allow them to eat as much as they want until they are fully weaned, usually at about six to eight weeks of age. After they are fully weaned, feed them all they want three times daily to six months of age and two times daily to 12 months of age. If desired, Rachael Ray Nutrish can be fed moistened. To feed moistened, mix 1/4 cup of water to 2 cups of Rachael Ray Nutrish. Be sure to check your dog's weight and adjust feeding levels to maintain a healthy weight. And, don't forget to see your vet regularly.
    • Slowly mix Nutrish® with his other food over a five to ten day period until your dog is solely eating Rachael Ray Nutrish. Once your dog is only eating Nutrish, keep in mind that feeding guidelines on the bag are a guide. Your dog's individual needs will vary based upon his size, his activity level and even his age. And overfeeding is a common source of digestive upset. Be sure to check your dog's weight and adjust feeding levels to maintain a healthy weight. And, don't forget to see your vet regularly.

    • There is a lot of debate around corn. But nutrition is all about balance. And every ingredient has some pros and cons. Some people believe corn allergies are an issue. That may be so in a few dogs or cats, but that's not the case for all of them. Unfortunately, if your dog has a known corn allergy, Rachael Ray Nutrish® may not be the best choice for you. If your dog has no corn allergies, we believe Rachael Ray Nutrish is a great choice for your dog because it's made with simple, natural ingredients. If, however, your dog does have a known corn allergy, you may want to try Rachael Ray Nutrish just 6®, which contains no corn, no wheat and no soy.
    • Think about brewer's rice this way - when you go to the store to buy rice for your family's meals, you're probably purchasing long grain white rice. Open a bag or a box of this and you'll find all of the rice particles are uniform in size and shape. The only difference between this type of rice and brewer's rice is that the brewer's rice particles are often smaller and not uniform in size and shape. Since we grind all of the grains in our pet food before we cook it, the size and shape of the rice doesn't matter. And it certainly doesn't affect the high quality of the finished product.
    • Recognized experts in pet food nutrition still debate about what constitutes a by-product because they're difficult to define. But we can tell you that all by-products are definitely not created equal. We can tell you that Rachael Ray Nutrish® contains no animal meat by-products. But what about chicken meal you may ask? Chicken meal is made from real chicken with most of the water and fat removed. It DOES NOT contain heads, feet or intestines, which are common animal meat by-products. Chicken by-product meal on the other hand, may not only contain heads, feet and intestines, but also other unsavory parts. Rachael Ray Nutrish is made with simple, natural ingredients, like chicken meal, not chicken by-product meal. In addition, Rachael Ray Nutrish does not contain other commonly used by-products like meat and bone meal. On the other hand, ingredients like corn gluten meal and soybean meal are not by-products, but co-products of accepted manufacturing processes. Take soybean meal for example. The removal of soybean oil from the soybeans results in a highly concentrated plant protein of no less quality than the soybean itself, it's just a new ingredient. And dogs in particular need proteins from both animal and plant sources to deliver 100% complete and balanced nutrition.
